Stuttgart and on to the Tirol.

Started the day here -
The Mercedes Museum in Stuttgart. Our driver for the day - TP - made himself at home on the Mercedes  coach we acquired for the day ;-)

All of the cars on display were stunners - not least this 500K Roadster, a favourite with film stars, politicians, gangsters (i.e. more politicians) and us.
Seriously though, if you are in the area it is a MUST DO.
Link to the museum's website - worth a visit too!
If you've got a MB Members Club card - remember to show it when buying tickets - the discount is well worth it!
After lunch we headed south down the autobahn to Innsbruck. It was 35 degrees when we set off, but as we climbed into the Alps the temperature dropped along with the rain - lots of it. We were also 'treated' to a magnificent thunder storm that echoed around the mountains. We're still getting the occasional flash of lightening now - three hours later!
The penthouse didn't turn out to be a hayloft - it's a basement flat!!!!

Off to Italy in the morning - Verona for 5 days then on to Stresa (with the Ferrari test track somewhere in the middle).
